BELLEVILLE — A patient is suing a physician and medical center for allegedly failing to provide his medical records.
Cory White filed a complaint on Nov. 13 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Master Medical Care and Khaja Mohsin, M.D., alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, White alleges that on Aug. 10 and Oct. 15, he presented a valid authorization for the release of his examination and health records. However, he claims the defendants failed to provide the records within 60 days. He also claims the defendants failed to provide a written statement explaining the delay or identifying when the records would be provided.
As a result, White claims he was forced to file a lawsuit and incurred attorney's fees and expenses.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks an order compelling the defendants to hand over the requested records and to pay the plaintiff's expenses and fees, plus all other relief that is just.
The plaintiff is represented by Thomas Q. Keefe III of Keefe, Keefe & Unsell PC in Belleville.
