BELLEVILLE — A wrongful death suit against Christian Hospital and its employees alleges a patient suffered an anoxic brain injury after complaining of shortness of breath.

Tony Brown, individually and as independent administrator of the estate of Shalisha Graves, filed a complaint on Nov. 1 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Patrick J. Kane MD, Christian Hospital Northeast-Northwest, TH of Missouri Inc., SEPM Missouri Services PC, Michael Feldmeier MD and Taylor D. Jones RN.

According to the complaint, Graves went to the hospital with complaints of shortness of breath. The plaintiff alleges the defendants did not properly treat her, leading to anoxic brain injury and death. The plaintiff claims the defendants failed to order proper tests to determine the decedent's shortness of breath and failed to properly monitor her condition.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendants for more than $50,000, plus costs. He is represented by Jamie L. Boock and John F. Guletz of Rossiter and Boock LLC in St. Louis.
