EDWARDSVILLE — A liability insurer is suing a motorist for allegedly causing a crash on I-270.
Lighthouse Casualty Company, a/s/o Marquarius C. Hall and Francia R. Young, filed a complaint on Oct. 30 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Deneisha D. Watson, alleging she breached her duty to exercise ordinary care while driving a motor vehicle.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Nov. 12, 2016, Hall and Young were injured in a collision on I-270 due to the carelessness of the defendant.
They allegedly suffered injuries and damages for which the plaintiff compensated them in a fair and reasonable sum of $52,000.
The plaintiff holds Watson responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to maintain a careful lookout and failed to keep her vehicle under proper control to avoid the crash.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages in the amount of $52,000, plus costs of this action. It is represented by Richard A. Mixson of Miller & Steeno, PC in St. Louis.
