BELLEVILLE — A cook at Longhorn Steakhouse claims he was injured when he was struck in the leg with a box.

Philip Murray filed a complaint on Oct. 5 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Juan Estanislao and Maines and Food Service, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Jan. 17, 2017, he was employed as a cook at Longhorn Steakhouse when a box being transported by Estanislao struck him on his left leg.

Murray claims he suffered bodily injuries resulting in disability, disfigurement, pain, medical expenses and loss of income.

The plaintiff alleges Estanislao failed to keep a proper lookout and carelessly unloaded food products in such a manner that could cause injury to others.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual damages in excess of $50,000, plus costs. He is represented by Kevin Boyne of Kevin Boyne PC in Belleville.
