State Farm accused of denying uninsured motorist claims

EDWARDSVILLE — An estate administrator alleges State Farm denied uninsured motorist claims following a collision involving an explosion. 

Kaleb Morris, special administrator of the estate of Victor D. Morris, filed a complaint on Oct. 17 in Madison County Circuit Court against State Farm Mutual Insurance Company.

According to the complaint, Victor Morris was driving a truck on U.S. Highway 67 in Arkansas when an uninsured driver clipped his vehicle. Victor Morris' truck allegedly hit another car and exploded. The plaintiff alleges the insurance company will not honor uninsured motorist claims.

The plaintiff seeks damages of more than $50,000, plus penalties as provided by law. He is represented by Keith Short and Jack Daugherty of Short & Daugherty PC in Alton.
