EDWARDSVILLE — A former spa employee claims she was terminated because she was pregnant.

Christine Frech filed a complaint on Oct. 5 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Our Health Club & Spa 2013 LLC, alleging the defendant violated the Pregnancy Discrimination Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges her former employer subjected her to discrimination, harassment, a hostile work environment and termination because she was pregnant.

As a result, she claims she has suffered and will continue to suffer lost wages and fringe benefits, emotional distress, inconvenience and loss of enjoyment of life.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of more than $50,000, plus costs and all further relief that the court may deem proper and just. She is represented by Michael J. Brunton and Mary M. Stewart of Brunton Law Offices PC in Collinsville.
