BELLEVILLE — A passenger is suing RP Lumber and an employee following a collision in Fairview Heights.
Correen L. Brandt filed a complaint on Sept. 25 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Trevor Ridge and RP Lumber Company Inc., alleging Ridge negligently drove his vehicle at an excessive speed.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Oct. 4, 2016, she was a passenger in a vehicle driven by Marissa Brandt. She claims the vehicle was stopped on North Illinois Street south of Marketplace Drive in Fairview Heights when Ridge, who was driving a vehicle owned by RP Lumber, collided with the plaintiff's vehicle and caused it to hit the vehicle in front of it.
The plaintiff claims she sustained injuries to her back, arms and legs.
The plaintiff holds Ridge and RP Lumber responsible because Ridge failed to maintain careful lookout, failed to yield and failed to stop to avoid a collision.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages for a reasonable sum greater than $50,000, plus costs of this action. She is represented by William L. Berry of William Berry & Associates LLC in Collinsville.
