Driver alleges injuries from U.S. Route 40 crash

EDWARDSVILLE — An injured motorist is suing another driver for allegedly causing a crash in Madison County.

Deborah J. Tate filed a complaint on Sept. 21 in Madison County Circuit Court against Paiton Brown.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges she was driving her Kia Sportage on U.S. Route 40 approaching Lions Drive when Brown's Ford Ranger struck her vehicle. 

As a result, Tate claims she sustained serious and permanent injuries to her neck and back and incurred medical expenses in excess of $78,000, the complaint states. 

Tate alleges Brown was tired and failed to avoid the collision.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment agains defendant in an amount exceeding $50,000, plus costs. She is represented by Andrew T. Druzen of Page Law LLC in St. Louis.
