Alton business accused of failing to make payments

EDWARDSVILLE — A wholesale furniture business in Alton is being sued for allegedly failing to make payments on a loan.

United Community Bank filed a complaint on Sept. 18 in Madison County Circuit Court against Upland Hunters LLC, Raymund Cooksey and Deborah Cooksey. 

According to the complaint, the defendants took out loans from the bank for $400,000 and $314,500. However, the plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to make payments. They now owe $108,561.31 on the first loan and $235,094.84 on the second loan, the suit states. 

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment plus interest, costs and attorney's fees. It is represented by Emmet A. Fairfield of Brown Hay & Stephens LLP in Springfield.
