Driver accused of hitting woman in Dollar General parking lot

EDWARDSVILLE — A woman who alleges she was hit by a car in a Troy parking lot is suing the driver.

Sharon L. Stoyanoff and Mark Stoyanoff filed a complaint on Sept. 7 in Madison County Circuit Court against David McMahan, alleging the driver did not operate his vehicle with due regard for the safety of others.

According to the complaint, Sharon Stoyanoff was walking on the parking lot of the Dollar General store in Troy when the defendant drove his vehicle directly into her. 

She claims she sustained severe injuries and incurred medical bills, the complaint states. Mark Stoyanoff suffered loss of support and services of his wife. 

The plaintiffs allege the defendant failed to maintain careful lookout.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek damages of more than $50,000, plus costs of this action. They are represented by Brian M. Wendler, Angie Zinzilieta and Paul E.H. Rademacher of Wendler Law PC in Edwardsville.
