BELLEVILLE — A patient is suing an eye doctor after she allegedly lost vision in her right eye.

Charlotte Roper filed a complaint on Sept. 6 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Dr. Sean Edelstein, SLU Care Physician Group, Illinois Eye Surgeons and Quantum Vision Centers.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff went to Edelstein four times with complaints of increasing pain and redness in her eye. She eventually lost vision in the eye, the complaint states. The plaintiff alleges the doctor did not attempt to promptly repair her cornea.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendants in a sum exceeding $50,000, plus costs. She is represented by Keith Short and Jack Daugherty of Short & Daugherty PC in Alton.
