BELLEVILLE — A father alleges a nursing facility failed to properly care for his daughter, who developed infections prior to her death.
Dale Swenson, personal representative of the estate of Lisa Stanton, filed a complaint on Sept. 5 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Helia Healthcare of Belleville LLC, which operates Willow Creek Rehabilitation & Nursing Center.
According to the complaint, Stanton was admitted to Willow Creek Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in May 2016. As a result of the nursing facility's negligence, Stanton suffered an urinary tract infection, severe bed sores and deep tissue injuries. She died later that month. The plaintiff alleges the nursing facility failed to implement preventive measures to avoid pressure ulcers and infections.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant for more than $50,000, plus costs. He is represented by Gregory M. Klote of Halvorsen Klote in St. Louis.
