BELLEVILLE — The Union Pacific Railroad Company faces a lawsuit from an employee injured by working along the railroad tracks.

Andrea Hebron filed a complaint on Aug. 29 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Union Pacific Railroad Company, alleging the railroad company failed to provide a safe work environment.

According to the complaint, the railroad company required Hebron to walk along uneven surfaces in the rail yards and tracks. Over time, she developed serious and debilitating injuries to her right foot and ankle, the complaint states. Hebron accuses the company of not providing proper walkways. She also alleges the company did not listen to the complaints of its workers about the unsafe work environment.

Hebron requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against Union Pacific for more than $50,000, plus costs. She is represented by William P. Gavin of Gavin Law Firm LLC in Belleville.
