EDWARDSVILLE — A pedestrian is suing a driver for allegedly hitting her in an Alton parking lot.

Ashley Allgood filed a complaint on Aug. 23 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Caleb Lenhardt, alleging he failed to operate his vehicle with due regard for the safety of others.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on July 22, she was a pedestrian in a parking lot in Alton when the defendant hit her with his vehicle.

Allgood claims she sustained severe injuries to her body and incurred medical bills for her treatment.

The plaintiff holds Lenhardt responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to yield the right of way, failed to keep proper lookout and failed to sound audible warning of his approach.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment in her favor in a sum exceeding $50,000, plus costs. She is represented by Brian M. Wendler of Wendler Law PC in Edwardsville.
