Car accident 03

BELLEVILLE — A motorist alleges he was injured in a rear-end collision on IL 161.

Levon M. Hudson filed a complaint on Aug. 14 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Kenneth B. Hagarty, alleging he negligently drove his vehicle at an excessive speed and while intoxicated, tired and/or fatigued.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Sept. 3, 2016, he was driving a vehicle eastbound on IL 161 near its intersection with County Road when the defendant caused his vehicle to strike the rear of plaintiff's vehicle. Hudson claims he sustained severe and permanent injuries to his neck and back.

The plaintiff holds Hagarty responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to maintain careful lookout and failed to reduce speed to avoid the accident.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of not less than $50,000, plus costs and any further relief as the court may deem just and proper. He is represented by W. Alex Lamb of Lieser Law Firm LLC in St. Louis.
