BELLEVILLE — Several manufacturers face a lawsuit over a man's asbestos exposure.
Ben and Laura Adams filed a complaint on July 18 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against several manufacturers, including Chicago-Wilcox Manufacturing Company, Dow Chemical Company and Zurn Industries.
According to the complaint, Adams inhaled or ingested asbestos fibers while working with products manufactured and sold by the defendants. Last year, Adams found out he had lung cancer, the complaint states. The couple claim the defendants did not provide enough warning about long-term exposure to the fibers.
The plaintiffs request a jury trial and damages of more than $50,000. They are represented by Randy L. Gori of Gori, Julian & Associates in Edwardsville.
