Motorist sues over Interstate 55 crash

EDWARDSVILLE — A Macoupin County resident accuses a Madison County man of hitting his vehicle in a crash on Interstate 55.

Arnold Simpson filed a complaint on July 16 in Madison County Circuit Court against Daniel Knoblauch, alleging the driver negligently caused the crash. 

According to the complaint, Knoblauch hit Simpson's vehicle while stopped in traffic on Interstate 55. Simpson sustained severe injuries resulting in pain, medical bills, loss of enjoyment of life and disability, the complaint states. Simpson claims Knoblauch did not keep a careful lookout and reduce speed.

Simpson seeks a jury trial and damages of more than $50,000. He is represented by Matthew P. Young of Kuehn, Beasley & Young in Belleville.
