EDWARDSVILLE — A man is suing a property owner for allegedly moving a ladder and causing him to fall.

Stephen A. Bean filed a complaint on June 18 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Jonathan D. Bean alleging he failed to exercise ordinary care for the safety of plaintiff.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug. 25, 2016, he was injured when he fell off a ladder at Jonathan Bean's Maryville residence.

As a result, Stephen Bean claims he suffered injuries to his left shoulder and incurred medical expenses.

The plaintiff alleges the defendant negligently moved the ladder without replacing it to its original position and failed to inform the plaintiff that he moved it.

The plaintiff seeks judgment in his favor in an amount greater than $50,000, plus costs.

He is represented by John H. Leskera of Leskera Law Firm in Collinsville.
