Injured driver seeks damages following Roxana crash

EDWARDSVILLE – A woman injured in an auto accident in Roxana alleges the driver who struck her vehicle left the scene.

Jennifer L. Leigh filed a complaint on June 21 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Justin M. Davenport alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Nov. 8, 2017, she was injured when the defendant caused his vehicle to collide with her vehicle on state Route 255 between state Route 143 and Madison exits in Roxana. The suit states he left the scene of the accident.

She alleges she suffered extensive injuries to her neck, right shoulder and back as a result of the collision.

The plaintiff holds Davenport responsible because the defendant allegedly negligently drove his vehicle at an excessive speed and failed to keep a proper lookout.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in a sum of more than $50,000, plus costs of suit and all other relief that is proper and just.
