EDWARDSVILLE – A Madison County mother alleges her minor child was injured when attempting to exit a vehicle driven by another minor.

Dana Bourland, individually and as next friend of Christian Alexander, a minor, filed a complaint on June 21 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Monica Cruthis, individually and as next friend of Isaac Cruthis, a minor, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in Nov. 4, 2017, Alexander was a passenger in a vehicle operated by Isaac Cruthis in Troy. The suit states Alexander was injured when he was thrown to the street pavement as he tried to exit the vehicle driven by Isaac Cruthis.

The plaintiffs allege Isaac Cruthis failed to keep his vehicle under proper control and failed to keep the vehicle stopped while a passenger was exiting.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount of $50,000, plus costs of suit.

She is represented by Steven Giacoletto of Giacoletto Law Firm in Collinsville.
