BELLEVILLE – Two individuals are seeking damages from a motorist over alleged injuries sustained in a rear-end collision in Belleville.

Brandione Wingfield and Jessica Phillips filed a complaint on June 6 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Desiree Beauchaine alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that, on Nov. 2, 2017, they were in a motor vehicle and were stopped along Sullivan Drive in Belleville when the defendant struck the rear of their vehicle. They allege they suffered injuries to their heads, bodies and limbs and were made sick, sore, lame and disordered as a result of the collision.

The plaintiffs allege Beauchaine negligently drove at an excessive speed, failed to keep proper lookout and followed the plaintiff's vehicle more closely than was reasonable.

The plaintiffs seek judgment against the defendant of more than $50,000 for each plaintiff, plus court costs.

They are represented by John H. Hustava of John H. Hustava PC in Collinsville.
