BENTON — Employee benefit fund administrators are suing a company for allegedly failing to make contributions.

Central Laborers' Pension Fund and two other funds filed a complaint on May 29 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Illinois against Freeman Environmental Services Inc., alleging it violated the Labor Management Relations Act and the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege the defendant failed to comply with the terms of an agreement by failing to pay all of its contributions from Jan. 1, 2011, through Nov. 30, 2017.

As a result of defendant's alleged actions, the plaintiffs' employee welfare benefit funds have been damaged in the amount of $81,179.50, the suit states.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment in the amount of $81,179.50, plus interest, attorneys' fees, costs and all other relief that is legal and equitable.

They are represented by Letitia Wiggins and Kelly R. Phelps of Jelliffe, Doerge & Phelps in Harrisburg.
