BELLEVILLE — A customer is suing the operators of a local IHOP restaurant after she allegedly fell outside the bathroom.

Victoria Weygandt filed a complaint on May 22 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Mohamad Youssef, Youssef Group LLC, Alex Lopez and Moe Abdul, alleging they failed to maintain the restaurant premises in a reasonably safe condition.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Feb. 19, 2017, she was an invitee at the defendants' IHOP restaurant when she fell in the walkway outside the bathroom area.

Weygandt claims she suffered severe and permanent injuries, including lacerations to her elbow, a concussion and injury to her neck and left shoulder, which required medical and rehabilitative treatment.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to discover the impending danger, failed to make it safe and failed to provide adequate warning or caution of such danger.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of not less than $50,000, plus punitive damages and costs of this action.

She is represented by Grey Chatham Jr. of Chatham & Baricevic in Belleville.
