Motorist alleges injuries from East St. Louis crash

Car accident 10

BELLEVILLE — A motorist is suing another driver for allegedly causing an East St. Louis collision.

Tracy Young filed a complaint on May 25 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Darcean A. Brown, alleging she failed to exercise reasonable care while operating a motor vehicle.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on July 30, 2017, she was driving a vehicle on the 600 block of North 25th Street in East St. Louis when Brown's vehicle collided with her vehicle.

Young claims she sustained severe and permanent injuries, both internally and externally.

The plaintiff alleges Brown drove the vehicle at a speed greater than reasonable, failed to yield right of way and failed to take evasive actions at the first appearance of danger.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of not less than $50,000, plus costs of this action.

She is represented by Kenneth B. Beljanski and Jaye R. Lindsay of Brown & Brown LLP in Fairview Heights.
