Driver seeks more than $50K following I-55 collision

Car accident 36

EDWARDSVILLE — A driver claims he was injured in a crash on Interstate 55 in Hamel last year.

Wesley Huff filed a complaint April 25 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Jason R. Carrigan alleging Carrigan failed to maintain proper control of his vehicle.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Nov. 3, he was traveling south on I-55 near milepost 28 when Carrigan's vehicle struck the rear of his vehicle. Huff claims he suffered extensive injuries to his head, neck, back, limbs and body as a whole. The plaintiff holds Carrigan responsible because the defendant allegedly negligently operated his vehicle at an excessive rate of speed, failed to keep a proper lookout and failed to slacken speed, stop or swerve to avoid an accident.

The plaintiff seeks a judgment against the defendant for more than $50,000, plus costs of this action. He is represented by John H. Hustava of John H. Hustava PC in Collinsville.
