Rear-end accident in Alton is subject of suit

Lawsuits

EDWARDSVILLE —  A driver is suing over a rear-end crash in Alton in 2016.

Rodney Lindor filed a complaint on April 26 in Madison County Circuit Court against Misty Gail LeClaire alleging that she breached her duty to exercise due care in operating her vehicle.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Oct. 19, 2016, he was driving his vehicle in Alton when defendant caused her vehicle to crash into the rear of his vehicle. He allegedly suffered injuries that resulted in disfigurement, great pain, mental anguish, lost wages and medical expenses. The plaintiff holds LeClaire responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to keep proper lookout, followed his vehicle too closely and failed to slacken speed, swerve or stop to avoid an accident.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment in his favor in a sum in excess of $50,000, costs of court and whatever relief that the court may grant. He is represented by Gregory M. Tobin of Pratt & Tobin PC in East Alton.
