EDWARDSVILLE — A man claims he was injured after the vehicle he was in struck a tree in Granite City.

Harvey Lawrence Moore Jr. filed a complaint on April 9 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Markevion D. Conners and Wondra L. Calamease, alleging Calamease negligently entrusted her vehicle to a careless driver.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges on March 31 he was a passenger in a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu owned by Calamease, who allowed Conners to drive it. Moore claims the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree, causing severe, permanent and disabling injuries to his head, right leg and other parts of his body.

The plaintiff alleges Conners breached his duty to exercise ordinary care by not paying attention to the road and by failing to stop or reduce speed to avoid an accident.

The plaintiff seeks a judgment against the defendants in an amount in excess of $50,000, with interest, costs of court and other relief deemed proper and just.

He is represented by Andrew G. Mundwiller of The Cagle Law Firm in St. Louis.
