EDWARDSVILLE — A driver claims he was injured when his vehicle was rear-ended in Alton.

Coty B. Bertschi filed a complaint April 17 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Molly E. Kallal, alleging she failed to keep her vehicle under proper control.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on May 6, 2016, he was driving on Highway 100 when the defendant struck the rear of his vehicle.

He claims he sustained injuries to his knees that resulted in disability, pain and suffering as well as medical expenses and lost wages.

The plaintiff alleges Kallal carelessly drove her vehicle at an excessive rate of speed, failed to maintain a careful lookout, and did not take evasive actions at the first sign of danger.

The plaintiff seeks damages of more than $50,000 plus costs of this action.

He is represented by David C. Nelson of Nelson & Nelson Attorneys at Law PC in Belleville.
