Pedestrian allegedly hit in medical center parking lot by employee

Car accident 42

BELLEVILLE — A pedestrian is suing a medical center after one of its employees allegedly struck her while he was walking in the parking lot.

Deborah Beaston filed a complaint on March 16 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Protestant Memorial Medical Center Inc. and Corey T. Prange, alleging Protestant negligently entrusted its vehicle to Prange.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 20, 2017, she was walking in the medical center parking lot when she was struck by a vehicle driven by Prange, while in the course and scope of his employment with Protestant.

Beaston claims she suffered bodily injuries resulting in pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, medical expenses and loss of income.

The plaintiff alleges Prange failed to keep proper lookout, failed to yield right of way and negligently made a left hand turn when it was not safe to do so.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount in excess of $50,000, plus costs of suit.

She is represented by Daniel K. Juncker of Daniel K. Juncker PC in Belleville and Jason B. Going of Law Office of Jason B. Going in Belleville.
