Law money 13

BELLEVILLE — An estate guardian is suing two financial institutions for allegedly allowing unauthorized individuals to withdraw more than $413,000 from an account.

Judith Trentman, guardian of the estate of Lessie M. Reynolds and Richard M. Reynolds, disabled adults, filed a complaint March 14 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against TD Ameritrade and Bank of America, alleging they breached their duties to protect assets and deposits.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges the defendants allowed individuals to withdraw money from the plaintiff's wards' accounts without authority and without requiring appropriate credentials for a power of attorney.

As a result, the plaintiff's wards were damaged in the total amount of $413,757.63.

The plaintiff seeks judgment in her favor in an amount of more than $50,000.

She is represented by James R. Mendillo of Freeark, Harvey & Mendillo PC in Belleville.
