EDWARDSVILLE – A woman is suing a Collinsville health care facility for alleged negligent care, resulting in a patient's death.
Lesa Rosener, as special representative and administrator of the estate of Eleanor Joyce Denson, deceased, filed a complaint on Jan. 5 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Collinsville Rehab & Health Care Center, et al., citing the Illinois Nursing Home Care Act and other counts.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between Feb. 4, 2015, and March 20, 2016, Denson was a resident at the defendants' long-term care facility. During that period, Rosener alleges Denson suffered physical and emotional injury, malnutrition, weight loss and sepsis, all of which contributed to Denson's death on March 29, 2016.
The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to provide the decedent with appropriate nursing and medical care and failed to develop and implement a care plan to meet Denson's needs.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment of more than $50,000, plus attorneys' fees and costs.
She is represented by Craig J. Jensen and Elizabeth Parker of MeyerJensen PC in Alton.
