Passenger seeks damages over South Smiley Street collision

BELLEVILLE – A passenger alleges she was injured when another car failed to yield and caused a collision in St. Clair County.

Melissa Dunn filed a complaint on Dec. 27 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Tia Henderson, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug. 3, 2016, she was a restrained passenger in a motor vehicle traveling on South Smiley Street in St. Clair County when Henderson suddenly turned out of a parking lot and struck the vehicle in which the plaintiff was riding in. 

Dunn alleges she sustained bodily injuries resulting in pain and suffering. 

The plaintiff alleges Henderson failed to yield to the right of way.

Dunn seeks damages of more than $50,000, plus costs of this action and all other relief as the court may deem fair and reasonable.
