EDWARDSVILLE – A truck driver for Schnuck's Market alleges a loading company failed to stack a load in accordance to standards, causing the load to fall.

Dennis Wisdom filed a complaint on Dec. 20 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Jacobson Warehouse Co. Inc., doing business as XPO Logistics Supply Chain, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is an employee of Schnuck's Market and the defendant regularly loads trailers for Schnuck's. The plaintiff alleges that on Dec. 22, 2015, he was attempting to deliver freight to various locations in Illinois and was unaware the load had shifted. Upon entry into the trailer, he alleges the load fell on him.

Wisdom claims he sustained injuries to his neck, shoulder, arms and spine that resulted in pain, mental anguish, disability and medical expenses.

The plaintiff alleges the defendant's employees negligently disregarded safety practices by failing to stack and secure the load in accordance with the industry standards.

The plaintiff seeks damages of no less than $50,000, plus costs of this action.

He is represented by Lanny Darr in Alton.
