Woman seeks damages after rear-end collision on Highway 157

Car accident 03

EDWARDSVILLE – A motorist is seeking damages over alleged injuries sustained in a Madison County auto accident.

Joyce Stunson filed a complaint on Dec. 18 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Daniel Kleier, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Jan. 14, 2016, she was lawfully driving a motor vehicle and was stopped on Highway 157 when Kleier struck her vehicle from behind.

As a result, she claims she suffered whiplash and head and neck pain that prevented her from doing her usual duties and affairs.

The plaintiff alleges Kleier negligently operated a vehicle while using a cellular phone, failed to maintain careful lookout and failed to reduce speed to avoid colliding with her vehicle.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant in an amount of more than $50,000, plus costs of this action.

She is represented by Joshua R. Evans of The Unsell Law Firm PC in East Alton.
