Motorist alleges intoxicated driver caused I-255 collision

Car accident 04

EDWARDSVILLE – An Edwardsville resident claims she was injured in a collision on Interstate 255 allegedly caused by an intoxicated driver.

Shelly K. Margherio filed a complaint on Dec. 18 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Bradley G. Redmond, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Nov. 6, 2016, she was traveling on I-255 when Redmond struck her vehicle from the rear.

As a result, she claims she sustained severe and debilitating injuries to her head, back, neck, shoulders and legs that required medical treatment and expenses.

The plaintiff alleges Redmond negligently operated his vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and failed to maintain a proper lookout.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of more than $50,000, plus costs of this action and any further relief that the court may deem just and proper.

She is represented by Eric J. Carlson of Byron Carlson Petri & Kalb LLC in Edwardsville.
