BELLEVILLE — A woman claims she was injured at the Shiloh Dierbergs when an employee hit her with a cart.

Kendra Grout filed a complaint on Nov. 28 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Dierbergs I-64 LLC, doing business as Dierbergs Markets, and John Doe, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Dec. 17, 2015, she was an invitee at the Dierbergs Market in the City of Shiloh when an employee hit her from behind with a shopping cart.

Grout claims she sustained injuries to her pelvis, hip, groin, leg and lower back.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to exercise ordinary care in moving and storing shopping carts.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of not less than $50,000, plus costs of this action and any further relief the court may deem just and equitable.

She is represented by Robert G. Jones of Robert G. Jones Attorney at Law in Belleville.
