BELLEVILLE – The former client of a St. Clair County attorney claims she was not paid her full settlement.
Stephanie T. Watson filed a complaint on Dec. 5 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Marianne Mann Hannigan, alleging breach of contract.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff is Hannigan's former client. Watson claims Hannigan was handling a case on her behalf when a $40,000 settlement was proposed. Watson claims Hannigan paid her $5,000, but the remaining balance of $35,000 is still due and owing.
The plaintiff seeks damages of more than $50,000, plus any further relief the court deems just and proper.
