Pedestrian allegedly hit while crossing Illinois State Highway 4

Car accident 15

EDWARDSVILLE – A pedestrian alleges she was struck by an employee of Southern Glazer's Wine and Spirits of Illinois while walking across Illinois State Highway 4.

Juanita Smith filed a complaint on Nov. 28 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Southern Glazer's Wine and Spirits of Illinois LLC and Kelly Beegle, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on May 8 she was walking across Illinois State Highway 4. The suit states that Beegle, who was an employee of defendant Southern Glazer's, pulled from a stopped position and made a left turn, violently crashing into the plaintiff.

The plaintiff alleges she sustained severe and permanent injuries to numerous parts of her body and nervous system.

The plaintiff alleges Beegle allegedly failed to maintain a careful lookout for pedestrians on the public roadway and failed to yield to the right of way.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendants in a reasonable and sufficient amount.

She is represented by Robert C. Nelson of Nelson & Nelson Attorneys at law PC in Belleville.
