BELLEVILLE – A woman is seeking damages after a rear-end collision in Freeburg.
Kelly Cormeens filed a complaint on Sept. 25 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Blake Meinders, as special representative for the estate of Clinton R. Marler, deceased, and Melissa Marler, alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Sept. 24, 2015, she was a passenger in a vehicle that was struck from the rear by another vehicle driven by Clinton Marler. The suit states the incident occurred on State Street near the intersection of Marketplace Drive in Freeburg, and the vehicle Marler was driving was owned by Melissa Marler.
As a result, Cormeens claims she sustained serious injuries causing her physical and mental pain, medical expenses, disability and lost wages.
The plaintiff alleges Clinton Marler failed to maintain careful lookout and failed to properly apply the brakes of his vehicle.
The plaintiff seeks judgment against defendants in an amount of more than $50,000, plus costs of the action.
