BELLEVILLE — A passenger claims she was injured in a collision with a tractor trailer in 2015.
Rosa Varela-Romero filed a complaint on Aug. 11, in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Sonia Reveles, Tadesse Gabru Weldesemyat and Swift Transport, alleging the defendants breached their duties to exercise reasonable care for the safety of others.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug. 15, 2015, she was a passenger in Reveles' vehicle when she negligently caused their vehicle to collide with the tractor trailer driven by Weldesemyat and owned by Swift.
As a result, Romero claims she sustained severe and permanent injuries resulting in great pain and anguish, medical and pharmaceutical expenses and loss wages from her gainful employment.
The plaintiff alleges Reveles and Weldesemyat failed to keep proper lookout and failed to maintain their vehicle under proper control.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of more than $50,000.
