EDWARDSVILLE — A passenger is suing a vehicle operator for allegedly causing a collision after failing to stay in the proper lane.

Chanda St. Peters, also known as Chanda Bellick, filed a complaint on Aug. 25 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Chad St. Peters, alleging he failed to exercise reasonable care.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Feb. 19, she was riding as a passenger in the back seat of a motor vehicle being driven by the defendant when he allegedly caused a collision. 

She claims she suffered a fractured humerus, pain and suffering, loss wages and medical expenses. 

The plaintiff alleges the defendant failed to keep proper lookout, failed to stay within his proper lane and failed to obey traffic control signal.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant in excess of $50,000, costs of suit and such other and further relief.
