Scenes of 'The Empty Man' filmed at Madison County courthouse

EDWARDSVILLE - Twentieth Century Fox filmed scenes for The Empty Man at the Madison County Circuit Court on Thursday night.

EDWARDSVILLE - Twentieth Century Fox filmed scenes for The Empty Man at the Madison County Circuit Court on Thursday night.

The south side of the courthouse served as the façade of a police department in the movie. The studio also filmed at a home on Historic St. Louis Street and the Chain of Rocks Bridge.

Madison County officials said filming at the courthouse wrapped up sometime before 1 a.m. on Sept. 1. The county provided security and a facility employee to assist with filming,.

The Empty Man is a thriller about a troubled former cop searching for a missing girl.

The film is an adaptation from a graphic novel written by St. Louis writer Cullen Bunn.

According to his website, Bunn writes comic books for Oni Press and Marvel Comics. He also writes short fiction and novels.

He became a full-time writer in 2011. He grew up in rural North Carolina, but now lives in the St. Louis area with his wife and son.

The Empty Man is directed by David Prior and stars James Badge Dale, Robert Aramayo and Marin Ireland.
