Motorist alleges another driver's negligence caused crash

Car accident 32

EDWARDSVILLE — A St. Clair County woman is suing a motorist, alleging his negligence caused a crash that injured the plaintiff.

Emily Biekert filed a lawsuit July 25 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Kyle S. Wilson alleging that the motorist negligently operated his vehicle.

According to the complaint, on Oct. 3, 2014, Biekert she was operating her 1996 Chevrolet Lumina southbound on state Route 158 near its intersection with Air Mobility Drive. Wilson, driving his 2006 Ford Escape behind the plaintiff, suddenly struck her vehicle, the suit says.

The subsequent collision, the lawsuit states, caused Biekert to sustain body injuries and damages, including disability and disfigurement, pain and suffering, loss of income, medical expenses and loss of normal life.

The plaintiff alleges Wilson failed to be attentive, failed to timely reduce speed, failed to keep his vehicle under control and failed to keep proper lookout.

Biekert seeks a trial by jury, judgment of more than $50,000, plus legal costs. She is represented by attorney Kevin Boyne of Belleville.
