Motorist alleges another driver's negligence caused crash

Car accident 25

BELLEVILLE — A St. Clair County woman is suing a motorist, alleging negligence led to an auto crash that injured the plaintiff.

Amber Kimbrough filed a lawsuit July 11 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Aranda Callen, alleging negligence in failure to obey traffic rules and regulations.

According to the complaint, on Oct. 25, 2015, Kimbrough was driving her motor vehicle west on Interstate Highway 64 where it intersects with the exit ramp in Fairview Heights. The suit says Callen's vehicle collided with Kimbrough's car, causing the plaintiff to sustain injuries to the soft tissues of her cervical, shoulder and lumbar area.

The plaintiff alleges Callen failed to keep proper lookout, failed to properly apply breaks on time, operated the vehicle at a excessive rate of speed and failed to yield right of way.

Kimbrough seeks a trial by jury, judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs of suit. She is represented by attorney John H. Hustava of Collinsville.
