BELLEVILLE – A motorist is suing over injuries she allegedly received in the course of an automobile accident. She is citing negligence.
Jennifer Glenn filed the suit Feb. 22 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Phillip T. Hardiman.
On June 25, 2015, the plaintiff was stopped at St. Ellen Street, just south of west U.S. 50 in O'Fallon, according to the suit, which goes on to say that at the same time, the defendant allegedly put his car in reverse so he could get out of the line of traffic and backed into the plaintiff's vehicle instead. The collision caused injury to the plaintiff, the complaint alleges.
Among the alleged negligent acts committed by the defendant, according to the suit: he failed to keep a proper lookout, drove his vehicle in such a manner to cause a collision, failed to properly apply the brakes, and drove at a speed greater than reasonable.
The suit says the resulting collision caused injury to the plaintiff, especially to her head, neck, body and limbs; she has expended money for necessary medical care; she has suffered disability; and she expects pain and suffering to continue well into the future.
The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in excess of $50,000 plus costs of the suit. She is represented by John H. Hustava in Collinsville.
