Woman sues A1 Med Car Services and its driver over Caseyville collision

An Illinois woman is suing a medical vehicle service and one of its drivers, alleging negligence caused the injuries she says she sustained in an automobile accident.

Ryqema Blair filed the lawsuit on Oct. 28 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Stephen Craig and his employer, A1 Med Car Services.

According to the complaint, on May 6, Blair was driving her vehicle northbound on state Highway 157 in Caseyville. The suit says Craig was driving a vehicle owned by A1 Med Car at an unsafe speed in the same direction as the plaintiff. The defendant allegedly struck the rear of Blair's vehicle.

The suit says Blair experienced injuries to her left shoulder, neck, back and other parts of her body. As a result, the suit says, the plaintiff suffered pain and mental anguish, loss of a normal life, loss of past and future wages, and incurred a permanent disability.

Blair seeks at least $50,000 from each defendant. She is represented by attorney Steven E. Katzman of Katzman & Sugden in Belleville.

St. Clair County Circuit Court case number 15-L-615.
