Five auto passengers seek damages following Granite City rear-end collision

Five automobile passengers are suing a motorist over injuries they say they sustained when the defendant's vehicle rear-ended theirs.

Cassandra Drennan, Laura Drennan and three daughters of Cassandra Drennan, Emma, Alexandra and Brooke, filed the suit on Oct. 27 in Madison County Circuit Court against Jack Lee Forster.

The suit says that on Nov. 21, 2013, Cassandra Drennan was operating a vehicle along state Highway 203 in Granite City and had stopped at a red traffic signal. Foster was some distance behind the plaintiffs' vehicle, the suit states, but he failed to slow down or stop, causing serious bodily damage to all the plaintiffs inside their vehicle.

The plaintiffs allege the accident resulted in injuries, medical bills and inability to attend to regular duties.

Each plaintiff seeks more than $50,000, plus legal costs. They are represented by attorney Adam W. Bragee of Beatty & Motil of Glen Carbon.

Madison County Circuit Court case number 15-L-1382.
