A carpenter alleging he was injured in a fall from a structure at an O'Fallon home is suing the property owner and material supplier.
Victor Betancourt, an area carpenter, filed a lawsuit on Oct. 26 against Michael Pederson and Menards Corporation in the St. Clair County Circuit Court, alleging negligence arising out of the plaintiff's fall from a structure built at the Pedersons' O'Fallon home with lumber purchased from Menards.
According to the complaint, Betancourt alleges the Pederson failed to provide him with a safe working structure. He also alleges the materials sold by Menards were unsafe.
The plaintiff claims he injured his head, neck, ears, brain, skull and ribs as a result of the fall.
