A Madison County motorist is suing another driver, alleging negligence in a car collision.
Marilyn K. Stone filed a lawsuit Oct. 16 in Madison County Circuit Court against Virgil C. Needler, alleging vehicular negligence.
According to the complaint, on Oct. 25, 2013, Stone, driving a 2005 Nissan Ultima, was traveling southbound near 1900 Edwardsville Road E. in Wood River when Needler, driving in a westerly direction in a 1994 Jeep Cherokee, failed to yield the right-of-way and crashed into the plaintiff's vehicle as Stone was attempting to turn left.
The suit says Needler failed to maintain a proper lookout, operate his vehicle at an appropriate speed as to avoid a collision or apply brakes in a timely manner.
In addition to sustaining severe injuries, the plaintiff alleges she has and will continue to endure pain, anguish, the inability to partake in her normal everyday duties and medical expenses.
Stone seeks damages of more than $15,000, plus lawsuit costs. She is represented by attorney Don Cary Collins of Belleville.
