A Clinton County man is suing a St. Clair County driver following an auto collision.
Paul M. Horstmann filed a lawsuit on Oct. 5 in St. Clair County Circuit court against William G. Broadhurst for injuries sustained during a vehicle collision.
According to the complaint, Horstmann alleges that he was operating his Monte Carlo heading westbound on Old U.S. 50 towards Linden Grove Rd on April 27, 2014, when was hit in the rear by Broadhurst, who operated a Silverado. The plaintiff was allegedly turning left, signaled, slowed down and was struck in the rear by the defendant. The incident allegedly happened on a clear night with good road conditions.
Due to the collision, Horstmann allegedly suffered injuries to his neck, spine and hips. He alleges the defendant failed to keep a safe distant, failed to pay attention to appropriate driving conditions and failed to maintain or operate his vehicle properly, the suit states.
Hortsmann is suing for $50,000.00, plus attorney fees and court costs. He is represented by Steven L. Groves of Groves Powers, LLC in St. Louis.
